The 2019 Participatory Budgeting cycle for the 45th Ward is gearing up and the ward wants to hear from you! Share your ideas and help decide how tax dollars are spent on infrastructure in the ward. Several projects for the Hitch community have been part of this process in the past, including the turf field and curb bump-outs along Bryn Mawr to improve safety. Hitch again hosted a Neighborhood Assembly on May 21st for this project which helps Chicagoans gain real power over real money. Since its inception, PB Chicago has engaged over 13,000 residents in 12 different communities to directly decide how to spend over $18 million in public dollars.
New this year are Idea Boxes, which are located throughout the ward—including the Main Office at Hitch! It will be in place until June 1st, so stop by and submit your idea for brick-and-mortar-type improvements in the ward. You can also submit an idea online at http://bit.ly/PB45Idea .
